Your first TikTok Shop listing, step by step.

Get your materials ready

Log into TikTok Shop Seller Center, go to Products → Add Products, and choose Add new product. Before you start filling anything in, have these ready on your desktop:

• At least 8 product images — TikTok recommends a minimum of 5, but 8+ converts better. Plus a "Main image" (the first thumbnail buyers see).
• A short video (optional but highly recommended on TikTok Shop). 9:16 to 16:9 aspect ratio, max 100MB, MP4/MOV/MKV/AVI.
• Size chart image — TikTok has its own Size Chart widget with "Upload image" option. Download the MeshX size chart from the Drive folder below.
• Colour chart image — add as one of your product photos.
• Your design name and 2–3 keyword phrases buyers search for.

Upload 8+ images and an optional video

Under Basic information → Images, the first image you upload is marked Main image — this is your listing thumbnail. Upload more after it:

1. Slot 1 (Main image) — Primary mockup. Your strongest shot on the most popular colour. This appears in TikTok feed and search.
2. Slot 2 — Design-colour warning. A "Choose the correct T-shirt colour" graphic reduces refund requests.
3. Slot 3 — Lifestyle shot. Model wearing the tee, or the tee styled in context.
4. Slot 4 — Alternate colour mockup. Same design on a different colour (e.g. White or Sand).
5. Slot 5 — Second lifestyle shot or a flat-lay / back view.
6. Slot 6 — Third alternate colour (Navy or Burgundy works well).
7. Slot 7 — Colour chart (all 7 garment colours — from the MeshX Drive folder).
8. Slot 8 — Size chart (Adult + Kids — you'll also add this in the dedicated Size Chart section in Step 08).

Video (optional but recommended)

TikTok Shop rewards listings with a video — they're more likely to appear in feeds and affiliate placements. A 15–60 second clip showing the garment from multiple angles works well. Specs from the upload panel:

TikTok Shop lets you use up to 255 characters, but the first ~60 are what buyers see in the feed. Front-load the strongest keywords.

After you type the name, TikTok shows "Recommended search keywords based on category" underneath — useful hints for your description tags too.

Category

Pick the path that matches your design's target audience. For men's designs:

Recommended category pathMenswear & Underwear > Men's Tops > T-shirts

For designs aimed at women, use the equivalent Womenswear > Tops > T-shirts path.

Fill every relevant attribute — TikTok Shop uses these for search filters, and listings with complete attributes surface in more results.

Click Show optional attributes ▾ and fill in anything that fits your design — Theme, Character, Occasion, Country of Origin, etc. More attributes = more search filters your listing appears in. If unsure, leave optional fields blank rather than guessing.

Write the description

The description editor is in the Product details section. TikTok accepts plain text with basic formatting (H / B / I / U / lists). Paste the template below and edit the design-specific bits.

Replace [YOUR SHOP NAME] with your actual shop name. If you're only enabling a subset of variations on your first listing (e.g. Adult T-shirts only), trim the "Garments on offer" section to match.

Set up variations & SKUs

Step 6.1 — Enable variations

In the Sales information section, leave Auction product OFF. Toggle Add variations ON. TikTok lets you add up to 3 variation attributes — we use two.

Step 6.2 — Variation 1: Garment & Size

1. Click the Variation name dropdown and type or select Garment & Size.
2. In the Option list, click each empty row and type the 13 labels below exactly. Press + Add option to add new rows.

Spelling matters: use these labels exactly — our SKU lookups match on these names. Note TikTok uses the full words Small / Medium / Large for Adult S/M/L, and Kids Tshirt Age 3-4 (not just "3-4").

Step 6.3 — Variation 2: Colour

1. Below the first variation, click + Add variation (or the second Variation slot).
2. Set the Variation name to Colour.
3. Add the 7 colour options below, one per row:

TikTok will generate a Variation list table underneath with all 13 × 7 = 91 combinations. You'll trim it down next.

Step 6.4 — Delete combinations we don't sell

MeshX only prints certain Kids / Tote combinations. In the Variation list, delete every row that isn't in the enabled list below. Full set = 65 rows kept, 26 deleted.

• 49 Adult T-shirt rows — 7 sizes × 7 colours, all kept.
• 15 Kids T-shirt rows — 5 ages (3-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-13) × 3 colours (Black, White, Light Heather Grey). Delete the other 4 colours for every Kids size.
• 1 Tote Bag row — Sand only. Delete the 6 other tote colours.

Step 6.5 — Fill Stock, Retail price & Seller SKU for every row

Each row needs three things:

100 in every row (made-to-order never runs out).

Retail price

Base price (e.g. £12.99 Adult S–2XL, £13.99 Adult 3XL–4XL, £9.99 Kids — see Step 07). Use the Apply button at the top to set one price for all rows at once, then override the 3XL/4XL and Kids rows.

Seller SKU

The MeshX SKU from the master tables below. Must match character-for-character.

Delete the 6 other Tote Bag rows (Black, White, Navy, Light Heather Grey, Dark Charcoal Grey, Burgundy).

How to price for profit

You set the sale price. Lower prices attract more orders on TikTok Shop — impulse buyers browsing feeds tend to respond well to price points under £15. Your MeshX costs are fixed:

Because 3XL/4XL cost more, set a higher price on those rows in the Variation list — a common pattern is +£1 on 2XL, +£2 on 3XL, +£3 on 4XL.

TikTok Shop fees

TikTok Shop takes 9% commission per sale + a 50p transaction fee per order. There's no separate postage charge for you to manage — TikTok handles delivery and collects the buyer's postage through its own system.

Worked examples (one UK sale)

Quick pricing ladder

Assumes 9% commission + 50p per-order fee, £2.85 to MeshX for postage. TikTok runs platform-wide promotions that can temporarily increase fees or apply buyer-side discounts — always keep a margin cushion. Check your real fee rate in Seller Center → Finance.

Upload the MeshX size chart

TikTok Shop has a dedicated Size chart module (usually between Sales information and Compliance). Toggle it ON and choose Upload image.

1. Download the size chart image from the MeshX Drive folder — it covers Adult and Kids T-shirts (plus Hoodies and Sweaters in case you list those later).
2. In the Size chart module, click Upload image and select the file.
3. Click Edit if you want to crop or reorder, then Save. TikTok shows a preview thumbnail.

This is in addition to adding the size chart to your product images — some buyers look at one, some the other. Include it in both places.

Product compliance & shipping parcel details

Product compliance

TikTok Shop requires UK-market compliance details for clothing. These are set once in your Seller Center Qualification Centre, not on the listing itself — but the listing page shows the dropdowns so you can link the details you've already saved.

Manufacturer

Select your saved manufacturer profile from the dropdown. If you don't have one yet, click the Qualification Centre link and set one up — TikTok requires this for apparel.

Responsible Person

Select your Responsible Person (UK-based entity accountable for product safety). Same as above — created in Qualification Centre.

Safety warning

Leave blank for plain printed T-shirts. Only add one if your product has specific safety information (not usually required for adult cotton tees).

Shipping — parcel weight & dimensions

TikTok Shop uses its own internal postage system — you don't need to set up a carrier account. The shipping module only asks for parcel weight and dimensions so TikTok can quote the buyer at checkout.

These figures match the "Estimated weight 250g" hint TikTok gives you, and are based on a single MeshX T-shirt in a polybag. If you later list heavier items (multi-pack, hoodie) update these values.

• Product name under 255 characters, keyword-rich, first ~60 chars say it all
• Category set (Menswear or Womenswear → T-shirts)

When every box is ticked, click Save as draft to double-check, or go straight to Publish. Your first TikTok Shop listing is live. 🎉

Copy your Product ID into the MeshX Listing Bot

TikTok Shop doesn't have a "copy listing" URL like Etsy — instead, each product has a unique Product ID you can see directly under your product in the Products list. That's the ID we need.

1. Go to Seller Center → Products → Manage products.
2. Find the listing you just published.
3. Under the product thumbnail and title, you'll see a line like ID: 1729791777154505187 with a little copy icon next to it.
4. Click the copy icon — the Product ID is now on your clipboard.

Paste the Product ID into the "Listing to copy" field in the MeshX Listing Bot. Just the number — no URL, no prefix.
